Shib Alpha Layer provides a seamless platform for launching rollups with instant confirmations, enhanced interoperability, and a unified account system. This guide walks you through the complete process of configuring and deploying your own rollup on Shib Alpha Layer.
Launching a rollup on Shib Alpha Layer gives you a dedicated blockchain with instant confirmations, enhanced cross-chain interoperability, and access to the unified account system that simplifies user onboarding.

What is Shib Alpha Layer?

Shib Alpha Layer is a platform designed to bring more users to RollApps by eliminating transaction barriers and delivering Web2-like experiences while upholding decentralization values. It provides:
  • Single Account System: One account, one gas token, one gateway for all RollApps
  • Instant Confirmations: Transactions confirmed in seconds with instant inclusion finalities
  • Enhanced Interoperability: Bridges and cross-chain protocols with improved security
  • Growth Ecosystem: Self-reinforcing cycle driving more Rollups and users

What is Shibarium (Shib Alpha Layer)?

Shibarium is a Layer 2 network for Ethereum, using a proof-of-stake consensus mechanism and full EVM compatibility. It supports:
  • Custom rollups/appchains
  • Decentralized applications (dApps)
  • Token launches
  • NFT projects
Deploying a rollup (appchain) on Shibarium lets you launch your own blockchain with custom logic, tokenomics, and governance, while inheriting the security and low fees of the Shibarium L2.

Launching Your Rollup

Now that you understand the basics, let’s dive into the process of launching your rollup on Shib Alpha Layer.

Step 1: Configure Your Rollup

First, you need to configure your rollup. This involves setting up the necessary parameters and configurations for your rollup. Visit the Launch Rollup page to begin the configuration process. The configuration form contains several important fields:

Rollup Name

This is your rollup’s public identifier. Choose a name that is:
  • Unique and memorable - Stand out in the ecosystem
  • Professional and brand-appropriate - Reflect your project’s identity
  • Easy to recognize and type - Avoid complex characters or spellings
Example: “NeoLedger”

Chain ID

A unique numerical identifier for your rollup that:
  • Must be a unique number - No duplicates allowed
  • Cannot be changed after creation - Choose carefully
  • Used to distinguish your rollup from others in the network
Once set, the Chain ID cannot be modified, so ensure you select a number that won’t conflict with existing rollups.
Example: “12345”

Upload an Icon

Your rollup’s visual identifier that will:
  • Represent your rollup in listings and interfaces
  • Must be under 200kb in size
  • Should be a clear, recognizable logo
  • Recommended format: SVG or PNG with transparent background
A professional, high-quality icon helps users identify and trust your rollup in the ecosystem.

Description (Optional)

A brief overview of your rollup that will:
  • Appear on the Browse Rollup page
  • Help users understand your rollup’s purpose
  • Highlight key features or use cases
Example: “Fast, secure, and scalable payments for the digital era…”
After completing these fields, click “Continue to pay” to proceed with the rollup deployment process.

Step 2: Make Payment

To complete your rollup deployment, you’ll need to make a payment. We support multiple payment options for your convenience.

Supported Payment Tokens

USDC

The widely-used USD Coin stablecoin

USDT

Tether’s stable digital currency

SHIB

Native Shiba Inu token

Payment Process

1

Select payment token

Choose your preferred payment token from the available options (USDC, USDT, or SHIB).
2

Review payment amount

Verify the payment amount displayed in your chosen token.
3

Check wallet balance

Ensure you have sufficient balance in your wallet to complete the transaction.
4

Confirm transaction

Approve the transaction in your wallet interface.
5

Wait for confirmation

Monitor the transaction until it’s confirmed on the network.
Once the payment is confirmed, your rollup will begin the deployment process.

Deployment Status Lifecycle

Your rollup will progress through these status phases during deployment:
  • Launching: The rollup is being deployed and configured on the network
  • Active: The rollup is fully deployed and ready for use
You’ll receive confirmation details and access information once your rollup reaches the Active status.

Step 3: Managing Your Rollup

After deployment, you can manage and monitor your rollup through the “Manage Rollups” tab. This dashboard provides comprehensive control over your deployed rollups.

View Rollup Status

  • Monitor the current status of your rollup (Draft/Launching/Active)
  • View deployment progress and confirmation details

Manage Rollup Details

  • Update rollup description and metadata
  • View transaction history and analytics
  • Access configuration settings
  • Monitor network statistics
The Manage Rollups dashboard serves as your central hub for overseeing all rollups you’ve launched, allowing you to maintain and optimize your rollup’s performance effectively.
